The Italian Pavilion at Biennale took the chance to offer a meeting on Venice and its future, apropos the main theme of the Pavilion, Resilient Communities. The meeting was an open discussion that was build upon the themes of Venezia Secolo Ventuno and was then focus on Venice Urban Lab, an initiative by Sergio Pascolo and an indipendent civic group that works on  a holistic approach to urban issues. The meeting was opened by Prof. Benno Albrecht, Rector of the IUAV University of Venice. Sergio Pascolo introduced the round table moderated by Claudia Pignata with interventions by Reiner Nagel, Thomas Auer, Alessandra Tisot, Gianpaolo Scarante, João Nunes, Margherita Povolato and Leo Schubert.
